    Monday  (Theme: Wear Your Favorite College T-shirt)

    • Morning announcements will explain theme of the day: “Be Happy, Be Brave, Be Drug Free.”
    • Students will sign the pledge to be drug free during the mentoring period. >View Red Ribbon Week Pledge.
    • WMS Tweet of the Day: Join me in celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Our children have the right to grow up drug free, and we have the responsibility to make that happen. Take the pledge: >View Red Ribbon Week Pledge, October 24–30, 2020.
    • All students and staff will receive a red ribbon provided by the District during the second period. Students will be encouraged to wear them all week.

    Tuesday  (Theme: “Stay Wild And Drug Free!”)

    • Morning announcements will be presented about Red Ribbon Week.
    • WMS Tweet of the Day: “Today I’m joining teens, parents, teachers, and other citizens across America in celebrating Red Ribbon Week (October 24–30, 2020), the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. #RedRibbonWeek
    • Students will be made aware of the Red Ribbon Photo Contest at >View Red Ribbon Week Pledge for a chance to win an iPad or $1,000 for the school.
    • The History of Red Ribbon Week video, >View Red Ribbon Week video, will be shown during mentoring period.

    Wednesday  (Theme: Wear Red Day/Wear Red)

    • Morning announcements will include The Six Prevention Strategies from the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP): Information Dissemination, Prevention Education, Alternate Activities, Community-Based Process (encouragement to change unhealthy behaviors), Environmental Approaches, and Problem Identification and Referral.

    Thursday  (Theme: Be Brave Day/Dress Like Your Favorite Superhero)

    • WMS Tweet of the Day: “I’m a teacher who believes in a drug-free future for my students. Join me in celebrating Red Ribbon Week (October 24–30, 2020)!” #BeHappyBeBraveBeDrugFree
    • Red Ribbon Week Word Search will be during the mentoring period.
    • Students and staff will show the school how they are living drug free by dressing up like their favorite superhero and by snapping a picture and posting it to social media. They will print out and hold up the Red Ribbon theme sign. Challenge runs October 24–30. The hashtags #BeHappyBeBraveBeDrugFree and #RedRibbonWeek will be added.

    Friday  (Theme: Warrior Pride Day/All WMS Warriors Wear Green)

    • Morning announcements will include teachers and student council pledging to “Send A Message: Stay Drug Free!” They will also include: “Did you know? – Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don’t; yet, only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.” – Red Ribbon Campaign.
    • WMS Tweet of the Day: #BeHappyBeBraveBeDrugFree October 24–30, 2020.
    • Students will be told how to enter the 2021 Red Ribbon Theme Contest.
