    All Month

    • “HUGS Not Drugs!” Drive: Collect unused hats, underwear, gloves and socks to donate to Clothes Connection or a nearby clothing closet for those in need.
    • Weekly announcements about the dangers of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and the importance of being healthy and taking care of our bodies.

    Monday  (Theme: “Be Happy & Drug Free!”)

    • Wear your happiest & brightest/neon clothes!
    • Daily announcement will be about the dangers of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and the importance of being healthy and taking care of our bodies.
    • Second grade students will decorate the campus with red ribbons and other decorations.
    • Fifth grade students will record a drug-free pledge message to a kindergarten buddy.
    • A jar full of red items will be displayed. Students may guess the amount of items. The closest guess gets the jar of items to share with his/her class on Friday.

    Tuesday  (Theme: “Be Brave & Drug Free!”) 

    • Dress like your hero or a superhero!
    • Daily announcement will be about the dangers of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and the importance of being healthy and taking care of our bodies.
    • PK & 1st grade students will color Red Ribbon Week pictures to be displayed in the halls.
    • Third grade students will design and decorate “Be Happy, Be Brave, Be Drug Free.” posters to hang around the campus.

    Wednesday  (Theme: “RED-Y To Be Drug Free!”)

    • Dress in red from head to toe!
    • Daily announcement will be about the dangers of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and the importance of being healthy and taking care of our bodies.
    • Kindergartners will view the drug-free pledge message from their 5th grade buddy and kindergarten classes will record a drug-free message and send it back to 5th grade.

    Thursday  (Theme: “Sock It To Drugs!”)

    • Wear your coolest/craziest socks & participate in a sock dance time during the school day!
    • Pledge Day: The Red Ribbon Pledge will be read during morning announcements and recited by students. Each student will make a postcard and write and sign a pledge to stay drug free. These postcards will be displayed in the hallways.
    • Fourth grade students will write about the dangers of drug use and their choice to stay drug free.

    Friday  (Theme: “We Go By The Book & Stay Drug Free!”)

    • Dress as a book character for our annual Book Character Day.
    • Daily announcement will be about the dangers of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and the importance of being healthy and taking care of our bodies. 
    • The winner of the red item jar will be announced.
