    **Attention all Juniors and Seniors**

Last year, we went into 10th and 11th grade classrooms and assisted each student in creating a College Board and Khan Academy account, and linking the two. College Board is the company that offers the PSAT and SAT, and Khan Academy offers free, personalized practice for these tests. Many students created these accounts using their @g.birdvilleschools.net email addresses. This summer the district did away with the @g.birdvilleschools.net emails and replaced them with simply @birdvilleschools.net. This means that those students who used their old district email would no longer be able to access these accounts. In an effort to ensure that students have access to these free and wonderful resources the district has reactivated the g.birdvilleschools.net emails for all junior and senior students until the end of the semester. We ask that you immediately follow the steps below to ensure you have access to your accounts, as we want all students to have access to study for the PSAT and SAT. This also affects seniors needing to login to collegeboard.org to send official SAT score reports to colleges as part of their applications.

    1. Attempt to login to collegeboard.org
      1. If unsuccessful, follow the steps to retrieve your username and password
        1. If you do not recall your username hit the “Forgot Username” button and enter in your recovery email address
        2. If the recovery email address was the old g.birdvilleschools.net email you will be able to access the email sent through your current BISD email for the next two weeks only
    • Please do not make a second account- this will cause issues when it comes time to apply to colleges and send SAT scores
    1. Once successfully logged in, click “Update Your Account” and ensure the email address associated with the account is not the old BISD email
    2. Write down the username and password for future reference
    1. Repeat the steps above for Khan Academy by attempting to login at satpractice.org

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes. The counseling department was unaware of the changes that would take place to the BISD emails over the summer when we had students create their accounts. If you follow the steps above and you are still having trouble getting into their accounts, please visit with your counselor.
