Recognitions

  • All State Musicians

    The 2025 Texas All-State Musicians were recognized. The All-State Band musicians are Matthew Cantrell, Joshua Craig, Lian Duncan, Andrew Hernandez, Finnegan Morgan, Ayden Pryhuber-Fant, Carlos Quintanilla, Amber Reina and Joshua Rose. The All-State Choir musicians are Jacob Becker, Bennett Campbell, Grace Choate, Parker Meek, Jools Sandy, Sophia Sweny, Evie Trotter, Lilah West and JT Woodard. 

    haltom high school wrestlers

    Recognized Carla Campos, Haltom High School student, for winning the 6A Girls UIL State Wrestling Championship. Campos has been named an All-American, voted the District 4-6A Most Outstanding Wrestler and is a two-time Region 1-6A Most Outstanding Wrestler. Campos also won three district championship titles, two regional championships and is a two-time state medalist. 

    Recognized Wendy Le (pictured above), Haltom High student, for winning the District wrestling championship and placing fifth in Region 1-6A. 

    Birdville High Wrestlers

    Recognized 5-5A District wrestling champions and State Qualifiers from Birdville High. They are: 

    • Alex Castellanos: 5-5A District Champion;
    • Robin Conkle: 5-5A District Champion, Regional placer, and UIL State Qualifier;
    • Andrew Purvis: 5-5A District Champion, Region 2-5A Champion, and UIL State Qualifier; and  
    • Reese Bradford: 5-5A District Champion, Region 2-5A Champion, and placed sixth at UIL State.

    Recognized Dalton Williams (not pictured), Thomas Vanderburg and Elizabeth Hayden for earning their National Board certification. 

    US News Campuses

    Recognized Green Valley, Hardeman, North Ridge, Porter, Smith, Smithfield, Snow Heights, Thomas and Walker Creek elementary schools; North Ridge and Smithfield middle schools; and Birdville and Richland high schools for being named in the U.S. News & World Report's 2024–25 Best Schools rankings. These schools have demonstrated exceptional educational quality, earning their place among the best U.S. elementary, middle and high schools at both the state and national levels. The distinction of being ranked among the Best Public Schools reflects the commitment to academic excellence in the education of all students of these high-achieving schools. 

    Hudak

    Recognized Allie Hudak, Birdville High School dance/drill team director, for being named the Texas Dance Educators Association’s Director of the Year for 2025.

Summary of Actions

  • Approved donation from:  

    • Porter PTA to Porter Elementary; and
    • Richland Band Boosters to BISD Fine Arts.

    Approved the resolution establishing non-business days in accordance with HB3033 (88th Texas Legislature (2023)). 

    Approved the order of cancellation of the 2025 Birdville ISD board of trustees general election. Trustees Ralph Kunkel and Kris Drees were unopposed. 

    Approved the new Mullendore Elementary being a Preparatory STEM Academy with standardized dress beginning with the 2025-26 school year. 

    Approved the 2025-26 math open education resources transition plan. 

    Approved the Tarleton State University 2025-26 Tarleton Today Program Memorandum of Understanding. 

    Approved budget amendments. 

Bids/Contracts/Final Payments Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for: 

    • Walk-in coolers and freezers at multiple campuses from Pasco Brokerage, Inc.; and
    • Serving line remodeling at Green Valley Elementary from Kommercial Kitchens, Terry Woodard Enterprises, Inc. 

    Approved the contracts for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds) 

    • Summer projects from multiple vendors. 

    Approved the contract for:  

    • Lease listing services to CBRE.  

    Approved the interlocal/intergovernmental purchasing agreements with:  

    • Equalis Group; 
    • Educational Purchasing Cooperative of North Texas; and
    • Region 6 Education Service Center. 

    Approved the final payment to:   

    • American Mechanical Services for HVAC upgrades at the Plaza for Clothes Connection. 

    Approved the contract extension for property management with Colliers Management. 

    Approved the Guarantee Maximum Price Agreement with Lee Lewis Construction, Inc. for the addition of the 2025 kitchen plumbing work at Haltom High School.
