ASPIRE (21st CCLC/ACE)
ASPIRE is a grant-funded learning program. It is available at no cost for students at the ten participating campuses. The Texas ACE program requires grantees to provide five weeks of academic enrichment programming during the summer, with each week consisting of six hours per day and four days a week. For the 2022-2023 school year, the following campuses have ASPIRE: David E Smith, Mullendore, O.H. Stowe, Holiday Heights, N. Richland Middle, Haltom Middle, Watauga Middle, Richland Middle, N. Bilingual and ESL Summer Enrichment
Bilingual and ESL summer programs are offered at no cost to the family and are open to qualifying elementary and secondary emergent bilingual (English learner) students who currently attend Birdville ISD. All bilingual and ESL programs focus on enhancing a student's English language development through academic content to prepare students for success at the next grade level. Parents/guardians of students who qualify for the bilingual and ESL summer programs will receive an invitation with a registration form.

Camp Invention®
Camp Invention® is a nationally acclaimed summer program where STEM concepts come to life. Led by local teachers, this program has tapped into kids' natural curiosity since 1990, allowing them to become innovators through teamwork and immersive, hands-on creative problem-solving. Camp Invention® is a program that turns curious kids into innovative thinkers! Registration fee: $270 Payment is made directly to Camp Invention. Birdville ISD is unable to refund the money paid to Camp Invention. For registration and payment click on the following link: https://www.invent.org/programs/camp-invention Registration is open until the camp is filled. There are 120 maximum in-person participants. Scholarships are available. Applications are due by April 7, 2023, by 4 PM. The camp is on July 17-21, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Destination Imagination is a week of creative problem-solving fun to allow elementary students to experience this program. This camp is not connected to competition as it is during the academic school year. It is intended for students who’ve completed grades K-5. Registration fee for Destination Imagination Summer Camp: $175. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The camp is from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. June 12-16, 2023. . Extended School Year (ESY) services are individualized instructional programs for eligible students with disabilities that are provided beyond the regular school year. The need for ESY services is determined on an individual basis by the admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee.
Parents can contact their child’s teacher or the campus diagnostician for more information.
Sports Camps
All three of our high schools offer various sports camps throughout the summer for students of all ages. Information for these camps will be advertised with dates, locations, and fees if they apply. To get more information about the specific camps for the various high schools, parents would need to contact our Assistant Athletic Director, Lesa Master (lesa.master@birdvilleschools.net), or contact the following campus sports coordinators at the three high schools:

Summer PSAT/SAT Prep Class
The PSAT/SAT Prep Class is designed to help students perform better on the PSAT/SAT. High school and middle school students will receive one hour of evidence-based reading and writing, one hour of math, and one hour of college enrichment. The program will be for two weeks. June 5, 2022, to June 8, 2022, Monday- Thursdays. Time is to be determined. The middle school classes will be held at Richland High School and the high school classes will be held at Richland High School. Please contact your student's middle school or high school counselor for more information about this class.
Summer Reading Program
Birdville ISD and Learning A-Z partner every summer to provide a summer reading program through the online Raz-Kids rich resource. Students can access digital books/resources over the extended break to avoid the summer slide they may experience each summer. The program runs from the first week of summer break until the first week in July. The top two students with the most minutes read receive a prize from Learning A-Z.
