Welcome to BISD Instrumental Music

  • BISD offers instruction in brass, woodwinds, and percussion in grades 6-12.  Students are encouraged to begin instruction in 6th grade and enjoy a continuous, sequential band experience through high school and beyond.  Students begin instruction in homogeneous instrument classes and advance to full band groupings. Because band is a fully curricular academic enrichment course, students learn through a curriculum aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills required by the Texas Education Agency.
Band members have many opportunities to participate in performance activities including concerts, festivals, solo and ensemble contests, and marching band. BISD has a strong tradition of excellence in instrumental music with many awards and recognitions including selection as finalist or winners of many marching and concert band competitions.

Welcome to Birdville Band
