ATTENTION BISD Sports Fans
Student-athletes are preparing to return to fields and courts for the 2020–21 athletics competition season. Games are open to limited public attendance. The District will continue to follow guidelines from the University Interscholastic League (UIL) and other agencies related to masks (paper or cloth) and social distancing.
Due to the constantly evolving situation with COVID-19, and the regularly changing guidance from state education and health officials, BISD’s Plan will be reviewed and updated as needed to reflect new requirements from the CDC; federal, state, or county orders; or the Texas Education Agency.

The FAAC and Birdville Stadium are being used as much as possible this year for sub-varsity games of the three high schools and middle schools. We will continue to use the high school football fields to an extent, but will clear the stands after each game in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Middle school football will use the FAAC, Birdville Stadium, and the high school fields to help with stadium lights and social distance guidelines. The bleachers will be cleared after each game, and parents will be encouraged to leave with their child(ren) after their game is finished in order to allow for those attending the next game to have room under the social distancing guidelines.
Only sub-varsity games played at the FAAC will be broadcast.on NFHS.
GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS (Sold at the Gate only)
Middle school and high school volleyball tickets will be sold at the campus the night of the game, as has been the case in the past. The gyms will be marked with seating allowing 50% capacity. The gym and bleachers will be cleared between each game, with parents and students being encouraged to leave after their game to allow for those attending the next game. Tickets will only be sold for the game that is being played at that time. Sales will resume after the gym is cleared for the next game. (Note: Gym capacity will be closely monitored by the game administrator to determine when/if to end ticket sales.)
All District volleyball season matches (varsity, sub-varsity) will be played in the school competition gyms in succession. This should allow for adequate seating as the gyms will be cleared after each match.
Varsity Volleyball LIVE (Home Games only at the Home School/Thomas Coliseum)
If the game is sold out, or you are concerned about being in a crowd because of COVID-19, don’t worry. BISD will broadcast all Home varsity volleyball games LIVE on the campus YouTube channel. These are limited broadcast, so there is no charge to view the games.
As per the UIL mitigation recommendations, all stadiums and gymnasiums will adhere to allowing no more than 50% capacity for events. Stadium/school postings, PA announcements, video announcements, and marking seats and rows as “not available” will be in place for seating and rules that coincide with social distancing guidelines, such as requirements for face coverings and six foot distancing from others not in your household, etc.
