BISD and KISD students excel on the lake

Four teams from the Keller Varsity Bass Team, representing Keller ISD and Birdville ISD, qualified for the State High School Bass Fishing Tournament being held May 14–15 at Lake Belton.
Congratulations to all of our State Qualifiers for the 2021–2022 season!
- Cole Metz (Timbercreek HS) and Ty Wagner (Keller HS): Cole and Ty fished Lake Texoma in the regional tournament with the Texas High School Bass Association, representing Keller and Timbercreek high schools.
- Kaden Fox (Keller HS) and Parker McElwee (Keller HS): Kaden and Parker fished Lake Texoma in the regional tournament with the Texas High School Bass Association, representing Keller High School
- Noah Miller (Birdville HS) and Dakota Masters (Keller HS): Dakota and Noah fished Lake Texoma in the regional tournament with the Texas High School Bass Association, representing Keller and Birdville high schools. Noah caught a 5.83 lb. smallmouth bass, advancing their team to state at Lake Belton. Not only did they advance to State, but Noah caught the lake record smallmouth bass and possibly the state record as well.
- Ryan Nix (Richland HS) and Jesse Shaw (Richland HS): Ryan and Jesse fished Lake Texoma in the regional tournament with the Texas High School Bass Association, representing Richland High School. In addition to qualifying for State, they were named Top 10 Anglers of the Year for the West division placing eighth. They have secured a spot in the Angler of the Year Tournament scheduled for June 5 at Lake Conroe.
