Richland, Birdville High Theater Receive Prestigious Betty Buckley Awards

Theater students from Richland and Birdville High Schools earned top honors at the prestigious Betty Buckley Awards, which recognize excellence in high school theater performance and production across Texas. Presented annually by Casa Mañana, the awards celebrate outstanding achievement both on stage and behind the scenes in musical theater and theatrical productions.

Richland received multiple honors for its production of Moon Over Buffalo. The production earned the award for Excellence in a Play, highlighting the outstanding work of the cast and crew. Individual honors included Excellence by an Actor in a Lead Role for Oliver Morgan, Excellence by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Ramon Hernandez and Excellence in Scenic Design for Jack Layton.

Birdville was also recognized for its production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as Kylie Martin earned Excellence by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance. Congratulations to all of these students for these tremendous achievements!
