Birdville ISD Voters Approve 2026 Bond Proposal

In the May 2 General Election, the voting majority in Birdville ISD voted in favor of bond propositions A and B. The approved bonds total $475.5 million and will address student safety, learning environments, operational efficiency and instructional technology throughout the district.

“We are grateful to our community for their support and trust in our schools through the passage of this bond,” said Dr. Gayle Stinson, Superintendent of Schools. “I want to especially thank the members of our Bond and Facilities Planning Committee, whose time, expertise and thoughtful work helped shape a plan that reflects our district’s needs and our community’s priorities. This bond program will positively serve our students, staff, and community for years to come.”

The 2026 bond proposal was developed by a community-driven Bond and Facilities Planning Committee made up of more than 50 active stakeholders from across the school district and community, who worked to assess and prioritize the district’s facility needs.

Proposition A includes the replacement of Hardeman Elementary, replacement of Smithfield Middle School with the exception of the gym and science wing, a new partner middle school between Watauga and North Oaks Middle School, renovations and expansions of the Birdville Center for Technology and Advanced Learning, a new band hall at North Ridge Middle, renovations and updates to the auditorium at Birdville High School, and a new auxiliary support center that will serve both the transportation and facilities and maintenance departments.

Proposition B will fund replacements of instructional technology devices for students and teachers.

BISD is able to complete all projects in Bond 2026 within the existing school tax rate.

Thank you to the members of the Bond and Facilities Planning Committee and to each voter who participated in building a culture of informed voting across the BISD community.
