    The Birdville Education Foundation (BEF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 1996. The purpose of the Education Foundation Innovative Teaching Grants is to encourage and support the creation of innovative projects that will enrich the education and growth of all students in Birdville ISD.  BEF provides funds to finance educational opportunities outside the scope of the regular operating budget of Birdville ISD and targets areas such as enrichment of curriculum and instruction in the classroom, in the school, professional development and teacher learning, student leadership, school and community collaboration, and community participation in all aspects of education.
    Since 2001, the Foundation has given $1,596,709 to over 800 BISD educators through the Innovative Teacher Grant Program.  The Birdville Education Foundation awarded 50 grants totaling $122,514 for the 2018-2019 school year.
    The 2019-2020 Grant Applications are available on-line October 1st –December 14, 2018.  All applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on December 14th and must be submitted electronically.  No late submissions will be accepted.  Please read the 2019-2020 Innovative Teaching Grant Application Tutorial and 2019-2020 Innovative Teaching Grant Guidelines for instructions and helpful hints to help prepare you for completion of the application. 
    Items not considered for funding through the grant program are:
    ·         Student field trips
    ·         Magazine subscriptions
    ·         Speaker fees
    ·         Salaries
    ·         Consumables (food related items, shirts, batteries, etc.)
    ·         Software licensing renewals
    ·         Furniture and related items (stability balls, stools, adjustable desks, chairs)
