Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA2)

What is the TSIA2?

The Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA2) helps institutions determine if you're ready for college-level reading, writing, and math. Colleges and technical schools can use your scores to identify your academic trajectory. The assessment is administered via the College Board's digital ACCUPLACER® platform. Most students are required to take it unless exempt by qualifying SAT or ACT score. For more information, peruse the Student Informational Brochure.

Why does it matter?

  • TSIA2 scores determine your placement in college-level or developmental courses after high school.

  • Dual Credit students must meet TSIA2 requirements—they cannot enroll in developmental courses.

  • Passing all parts of the TSIA will help make you eligible for CCMR Release.

How many times can I take it?

Students may take the TSIA2 up to two times at no cost; however, successful completion of a prep course is required.
