Mullendore 600 Reading Club
Research shows that children who do not read over the summer are much more likely to return to school in the fall reading at a lower level than when they left for summer vacation. Studies have shown that children who read five or more books over the summer fare better on reading comprehension tests in the fall than peers who read one or no books over the summer.*

Students: We want you to be good readers when you come back from summer vacation. We are asking you to read 600 minutes over the summer break. That means you only have to read 7 minutes a day. Be sure to get your parents to sign your reading log, and when you bring this back to school, you will get special recognition.
Parents: We need your help by encouraging your child to continue reading over the summer. All you have to do is make sure your child reads, help them document the time spent reading & initial the reading log. Reading is fun, fun, FUN!!!
