  • What to Expect After Employee Benefit AnnualEnrollment 

    BISD's employee benefit open enrollment period runs from 7/15 - 8/11. Benefit changes are effective 9/1. Keep an eye on this page for updates through implementation of Annual Enrollment.

  • Medical - Welcome Blue Cross Blue Shield of TX (BCBSTX)!

    Don't forget, a Personal Health Guide is available 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday - Friday at 1-866-355-5999 for in-depth questions about TRS Active Care Plans. During the holidays, BCBSTX will be closed on the following days:

    Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26 

    Day After Thanksgiving, Friday, November 27

    Christmas, Friday, December 25

    New Year's Day, Friday, January 1

    Though Personal Health Guides will be unavailable these days, the 24/7 Nurseline is available at 1-833-968-1770 for non-urgent conditions; or you may use the District's telehealth service, MDLive, at no cost by calling (888) 365-1663.

     

    BCBSTX administered TRS-ActiveCare plans

    Participants enrolled in TRS-ActiveCare Primary or TRS-ActiveCare Primary+ will receive an ID card for each covered participant. Please ensure the PCP listed is correct. Call BCBSTX at 866-355-5999 if it is not. 

    Participants enrolled in TRS-ActiveCare HD or TRS-ActiveCare 2 employee-only plans will receive one ID card, while those on family plans will receive two ID cards.

    If you haven’t received your ID cards, you can still use your TRS ActiveCare BCBSTX plan. Call a Personal Health Guide at 1-866-355-5999 to get your ID card information so you can register for Blue Access for MembersSM (BAMSM).

    Once you have that information, you can get an ID card by:

    * downloading the BCBSTX App from the Apple App Store or Google Play to get a digital ID card; or

    * textingBCBSTX to 33633 and following the prompts.

    * Once in BAM, left-click on the picture of the ID card you want to print or download. 

    For the Benefits Booklet with plan specific information, please click on one of the following: Primary/Primary+HD/AC 2, Scott & White HMO.

    Baylor Scott and White Administered HMO plan

    Participants who enroll in a Central and North Texas Scott and White Care Plan (SWCP) will also receive new ID cards and may use them on or after September 1.  

    If you haven’t received your ID cards by Sept. 1, you can still use your health plan benefits. You can access your electronic ID card starting Sept. 1 through the SWCP member portal. Use your social security number to register. You may also contact customer service at 1-844-633-5325 to get your ID card information.

    CVS/Caremark Pharmacy

    If you are enrolled in a TRS-ActiveCare plan, you will receive a new CVS Caremark ID card. If you have not yet received your card, you may register at Caremark.com to print your personalized ID card. 

    Or you can print a general, temporary ID card without registering. Adding your personal details will allow you to use it at all network pharmacies until your permanent card arrives.

  • Transition of Care (Continuing Care)

    If your provider is in-network, you can continue seeing them but may need a referral if you enroll in TRS-ActiveCare Primary or TRS-ActiveCare Primary+. To search for your provider, click here.

    Transition of Care may not apply to the ActiveCare HD since referrals are not necessary.

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) - Welcome EECU!

    You may continue to use your NBS card even after you receive your EECU information as long as you have funds in the account. Expect your new HSA cards from EECU by the second week of September. Your account balance from NBS will not automatically transfer to EECU. An HSA account is a personally owned account by the employee, just like a checking or savings account. It is up to the employee to transfer a balance and close the account if they wish. Please note if you use all of your funds in your NBS account, you will still need to call NBS to terminate the account to avoid additional monthly charges. 

    HSA enrollees will get the following communications:

    • Health Savings Account Master Debit Card - follow the instructions affixed to the front of the card to activate your card.
    • Welcome Email - register for online banking
    • Welcome Kit - includes a letter with your account number, Beneficiary Designation form, Transfer form and postage-paid business reply envelope. Completion of the Beneficiary Designation form is optional but recommended, as it designates a person(s) to receive your HSA funds in the event of your death. Completion of the Transfer form is optional and is used to transfer funds from another HSA (such as NBS) to your EECU HSA. Please note, NBS will charge a $25.00 transfer fee to transfer your funds from your NBS account.

    ID Theft Protection - Welcome Identity Guard!

    Identity Guard will be the new ID theft protection provider effective 9/1. Employees who enroll in this benefit should receive a welcome packet in the mail early September.  

     

    Dental, Vision, and other benefits

    New participants in the HMO dental should receive a card in the mail the first two weeks of September. If you need a replacement card, you may call Delta Dental at 800-422-4234.

    The PPO dental will not send a card. Let your provider know you are with Delta Dental PPO and they can look you up by social security number and date of birth. 

    The vision, cancer, hospital indemnity, and emergency transport plans do not send a card, but you may access contact information and claim instructions on our benefits portal by clicking here

    New participants in Flexible Spending Account (FSA) should receive a card in the mail the first two weeks of September. If you need a replacement card, you may call NBS at 800-274-0503.
