Ticket Distribution Details from Principal David Williams

On Thursday, June 11, we will provide a second and final opportunity to pick up and drop off important (and VERY EXCITING) items at Shannon.

To accommodate all our students and families, we will provide a window of time in the morning from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. and again in the afternoon from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

To assist in minimizing your wait time, please arrive according to your student’s last name.

    Students with last names beginning:

    • A-K: please arrive between 8:00 & 9:00 or between 5:00 & 6:00
    • L-Z: please arrive between 9:00 & 10:00 or between 6:00 & 7:00

    IMPORTANT!!!

To honor social distancing requirements between campus staff and the students or parents in the arriving vehicle, the following safety protocols must be followed.

    • Prior to arriving, please write the first and last name of the student in bold print on a full size sheet of paper.

    • Staff will be serving all cars from the passenger side and rear of the vehicle.

    • Vehicles picking up/dropping off will pull onto Walker Street from Carson Street and proceed single file toward the school’s main entrance.

    • The driver will then open the trunk, hatchback or rear lift gate of the vehicle and prepare to move through four stations.

    • When driving through, the vehicle will pull up to the first distribution point and stop. No one will be allowed to get out of the vehicle.

    • You will hold up the sheet with the student name in the passenger window for the distribution team.

    • Station 1: Students who need to turn in textbooks and/or library books will hand them through the vehicle’s passenger side window to waiting SHS staff for collection.

    • Station 2: Students who were issued chromebooks and/or hot spots will hand these devices (and all cords) through the vehicle’s passenger side window to waiting SHS staff for collection.

    • Station 3: Tickets to Graduation!!!
      • Graduating seniors will receive one student ticket and up to two sets of five guest tickets to Globe Life Field for Graduation.

        • Thanks to Dr. Brown, these two sets of tickets, while honoring social distancing guidelines, will be near each other so SHS families will be seated close together

      • We will release tickets ONLY to the graduate, or their parent/guardian.

      • Globe Life Field will NOT grant entry to anyone without a ticket

      • We will also hand out COVID-19 screening sheets that must be filled out by every guest and brought to the field when you come to graduation

      • Be looking for more information posted on the BISD and SHS webpages and social media platforms regarding FREE parking at Globe Life Field! (Lot R for all graduates and their guests)

    • Station 4: Herff Jones and SHS representatives will place graduation regalia and local awards earned for graduation in the open trunk, hatchback or rear lift gate of the vehicle and close it.

    • Driver will pull away with all products in the trunk and exit by the east side of the Coliseum back to Broadway Avenue.

Please arrive at your assigned time (as designated above) to limit delays. Students do NOT have to be present for pick up/drop off. Please visit Shannon HS website to view map for June 11 and graduation dress code for seniors.

    Parking

The District has arranged for FREE PARKING in Lot R for all BISD graduates and their guests.

    Graduate Tickets

In order to maintain social distancing, graduates will have assigned seats based on the alphabet. (There will be designated seating for handicapped students.)

Technology will assign seats to coincide with the tickets provided by the Rangers. The campus will receive a doc file for use in printing two sets of labels with the student name and student ID number. One label will be placed on the envelope containing the student’s designated ticket, 10 family/guest premium seat tickets, and 11 COVID-19 Screening Forms. The second label will be placed on the cards given to the students when they arrive at Globe Life Field.

Campus staff are responsible for putting the student’s designated ticket, 10 family/guest premium seat tickets and 11 COVID-19 Screening Forms in the envelope. The family/guest tickets will be randomly selected.

You must have your ticket and COVID-19 Screening Form to be admitted into Globe Life Field. No ticket and COVID-19 Screening Form, no entry. You must have your ticket and COVID-19 Screening Form in hand to enter the stadium for graduation.

BISD is excited to offer this unique opportunity to the senior class of 2020.
