TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Education technology can help to improve student achievement. Technology can have the greatest impact when integrated into the curriculum to achieve clear, measurable educational objectives. Studies show that when computers are used to apply higher-order thinking concepts and when teachers receive sufficient professional development on computers, students gain a one-third grade level increase. When deployed appropriately, technology can change the way students think and learn, and thus, revolutionize education.

Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists

The recent e-mail phishing scam that affected some of our users has caused the Birdville mail servers to land on some major nationwide blacklists. Once an IP address is blacklisted, we have to go through a process to remove it, which in some cases can be a lengthy process. If you are sending emails out and are getting a 'delivery has failed...' return message, please forward that failure message to : nospam@birdvilleschools.net - we will address the failure and work to get it corrected. Alternately, you can notify the helpdesk x5888 - they will need the contents of the failure message, so have it ready!

BISD impliments new spam and antivirus prevention technology for our Microsoft Exchange servers known as Forefront For Exchange (FfE). This protection suite offers many benefits and being a Microsoft product, it is able to hook directly into the mailbox stores to further protect user data and prevent viruses. This solution can also remove already delivered 'bad' emails.

Recently you might have received an e-mail saying you are running out of disk space on your e-mail and you need to complete a form to continue using the e-mail system. THIS IS A PHISHING SCAM, it is not a legitimate e-mail from the TIMS department. If you receive one of these messages, we ask you 'forward' it to the following address: nospam@birdvilleschools.net - so it can be blocked. After forwarding, you may delete the message. DO NOT complete the form - if you have completed the form already, notify the BISD helpdesk at x5888 ASAP as your account is likely compromised. [Phishing Definition]. Please remember that we will never ask for your personal login information to be entered into any kind of form, just like your bank will never ask you to share your PIN number with anyone.
