Seek revenue source opportunities:

  • Monitor funding listserves from government and private sources
  • Assist with partnering with outside agencies such as universities and community organizations
  • Maintain regular contacts with funding agencies for funding opportunities
  • Conduct Internet research on funding sources and projects
  • Provide State E-Grant and Federal E-Grant program access

  Assist with publicly funded grant applications:

  • Interpret Requests For Applications (RFAs) for Executive staff review
  • Notify district leadership of grant availability and eligibility
  • Distribute grant information to eligible applicants
  • Facilitate planning meetings
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders for input
  • Assist with research and project development
  • Certify, submit and manage grants

Assist with grant management:

  • Develop job descriptions and hire grant staff
  • Train stakeholders on grant requirements and guidelines
  • Establish project management meeting schedules
  • Assist with budget set-up
  • Coordinate with Accountability and Data Quality Department for required progress reports and evaluation requirements
  • Coordinate with Budgeting and Accounting to maximize the use of funds
  • Interpret compliance guidelines – serve as a reference for compliance issues
  • Assist with public awareness and communication of grant purposes
  • Arrange for site visits and on-site program audits by funders
  • Assist with budget items that require special approvals such as travel, bids for major grant-funded purchases, etc.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resources Department for hiring grant-funded staff
  • Coordinate with various district offices to facilitate proper grant implementation
