Tech Prep View information regarding Tech Prep

Birdville ISD is participating in the Tech Prep initiative with Tarrant Couny College. Tech Prep provides an opportunity for students to develop a six-year degree plan beginning in the ninth grade and continuing through two years of college for an associate's degree. Students receive college credit for courses taken in high school. This process saves students college time and money. Tech Prep is a process that enables students to develop strong technical skills as well as strong academic skills for high paying, high skill jobs. Students interested in a Tech Prep Plan need to see a counselor for specific details. Tech Prep is flexible, allowing students to change pathways. Although the arrangement is with the community college, students who plan to enter four-year colleges for bachelor degrees may still select the Tech Prep process and transfer community college hours to a four-year college or university.
