Joe Cammarata joined BISD as Associate Superintendent for Staff and Student Services in July 2011. He  has worked in education for more than 25 years. He began his career in 1986 as a teacher in Houston ISD. He then moved to Huntsville ISD where he worked 12 years, first as a teacher and then assistant principal. Cammarata was a junior high and high school principal from 2004-09 in Katy ISD. Most recently, he served as associate superintendent of human resources and administrative services for Forney ISD.

Cammarata received his bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in 1986 and his master’s degree from Sam Houston State University in 1995. He holds a mid-management certification and is currently pursuing his superintendent certification at the University of Texas in Tyler.
